It was today, Thursday, June 25, seven years ago (2009) that Michael Jackson, the best entertainer that ever lived, left this world without saying good bye to his fans and family. So, today makes it seven years without the King of Pop, Michael Jackson.
As a very strong fan, the news hit me very hard. I was looking forward to his O2 Arena performance. There was no news that he was sick. All I heard and read was the preparations for the O2 Arena show. But the news broke out that the King of Pop and the best entertainer in the world had died from acute propofol and benzodiazepine intoxication at his home on North Carolwood Drive in the Holmby Hills neighborhood of Los Angeles.
Seven years on, MJ is still my best entertainer, especially as these days what I see are videos that don’t appeal to me or songs that liked substance and messages. Its been so hard to find Artists whose music videos can match that of MJ or whose songs touched the mind and soul of the unbiased listener. Songs like: “We Are The World”, “The Lost Children”, “Whatever Happens”, “Cry”, “Heal the world, Earth Song”, “Man in the Mirror”, “They Don’t Care About Us”, “Beat it”, “Black or White”, “Leave Me Alone”, and “Will You Be There” and many more send messages that touch even those who do not like music. What about his videos that were very entertaining and in some cases very touching. Remember Thriller? 🙂
When it came to dancing, MJ was and is still the best. Other Musicians still try to emulate him till date. His flawless moves was outstanding and breathe-taking. Sometimes I used to wondered if they were video trick. But his live shows proved that the dance moves I saw in his videos were actually real. In all MJ’s performances always quenched my dull moods.
Well, MJ did somethings which I did not like, like the surgeries, but he was human. And who am I judge him? If you are able to search the secrets of most of those who are (and were) castigating him, even after death, you are most likely to hear worse “sins”. For me, I look at the good things he did and leave the bad ones for God….or should I say I plead with God to forgive him. Aside from being an entertainer who eased our stress with his dazzling performances, he was a great philanthropist who knew no colour, race or gender. He was a great inspiration to people around the world, including other musicians, and very kind-hearted.
If you are able to search the secrets of most of those who are
(and were) castigating him, even after death,
you are most likely to hear or read worse “sins”.
I miss him dearly. To immortalise him, my ring tone has been his songs. 🙂 I still have his albums and videos, which are still very entertaining till date. Today, I will watch his videos and listen to his songs…songs that makes sense and carry strong messages and are still very relevant till date such as….
“Heal the world
Make it a better place
For you and for me and the entire human race
There are people dying
If you care enough for the living
Make it a better a better place for you and for me”
My heart goes to his lovely children, Prince Michael Jackson II, Paris-Michael Katherine Jackson and Michael Joseph Jackson, Jr., as well as his siblings and parents, Joseph and Katherine Jackson.
Michael Jackson was born on August 29, 1958 in Gary, Indiana, United States. He passed away on June 25, 2009 as a result of acute propofol and benzodiazepine intoxication at his home on North Carolwood Drive in the Holmby Hills neighborhood of Los Angeles, California, United States.
Once more, may his gentle soul rest in perfect peace. Amen.
